Call us, helplines urge troubled teens

1a) List two reasons why teens are reluctant to call helplines despite the promise of anonymity and professional help.

There is not enough helpline and there do not like to talk to stranger
b) According to Ms Lily Chu, how does Touch Leadership and Mentoring prefer to help troubled teens?

It is more effective and direct and this can educate student who are in the stage of facing problem to solve their upcoming problems

2) Have you confided in your friends or family members about the problems you face in school/ life? Why or why not?

No,I had no problem recently that i can't solve.Mostly my problem face was stress, school trouble and envy from someone else.I am a good person in school and i avoided some problem that suppose not to happen like getting away from gangsters when i met them .for problem like stress and someone else jealous my marks ,sport ,etc, this problem can't be avoid so i must face it .For stress i will go home and play some game to relax myself ,for envy of my result , i will argue with the person in the right way and give him/her some tips about my achievement .

Have you been betrayed by your friends before? If yes, how? (You may change the names of the people involved for privacy)

Basically no ,if yes is that they just out of fun and i will not blame them as the problem is not that serious. For telling who i love is also not counted as betray as this will be revealed one day.But still i will not tell people other than my friends.

1)What are the four rules for religious harmony
The first rule is ''All group have to exercise tolerance and restraint"which means thats rules apply on one group cannot come with law that are enforced or everyone.

The second rules is "Keep religion separate from politics"which means do not mix religion issue with that politics example "mr lee cited the recent Iranian presidential election which was fiercely contested where is the outcome of disputed by the supporter of President Mahmod Ahmadinejad
and the leading rival candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi and where both side invoked Islam in thier support.

The third rule is Government must remain secular and the fourth rules is Maintain the common space that all Singaporean share.
b)In your opinion, how can we maintain a common space in school

Respect all religion like respecting yourself and do not gossip about certain religious. The most important is if someone of other religion provoke you Do not said something bad about the religion, said about him instead. This is only when you are very angry.

2)Do you respect other religious .Why /Why not?

Yes i do respect other religious but just in the mind.My action does not show any idea of i respect other religions.I just like many people who wanted to respect other religion but though action they didn't respect other religion as something because of anger or joke made people forget about religious harmony.Maybe i got the genes of my grandfather who he hates Malay to the core so something i will find myself hating Malay but i will try to control myself not to do that. Some people likes to joke about other religion like the common one -their skin colour. Some people will scold Indian 's black skin. This although is a small stuff but it will hurt people thoroughly.Sometimes i also will slipped out of the tongue calling Indian black. One other common disrespect is during Hari Raya Puasa some non-Muslim will make the Muslim by bringing the food to the eye during their fasting. This is also disrespect although not physically but mentally. For Chinese i dun know how they insult but i never by insult by other religion.

Elderly Falling Prey to 'Volunteer' Ruse (trick)

1a)what is the modus operandi(method of operating) of the con artist?

Their modus operandi is posing as a volunteer from welfare organisation on a project to spruce up the homes of these senior citizen .Doing this will lets the unsuspecting victim let them into their house. When they didn't pay attention to them they will steal their cash.

b)What are the Lion befrienders planning to do to ensure the old folk do not get conned again?

They will ensure the experience or full time staff to introduce to the new volunteer to the senior citizen to ensure they recognised who they are.

2)Do you like social work ?Why or Why not?

Yes but i dun like to do social work cause i think it is a waste of time in a way and i dun like to interact with others. It is not easy to be volunteer i think cause it not just about kind hearted but include patient and understanding and of course need to bear with their temper and must not think they are smelly or something like that.i like social work because when i seen in the TV show they every time volunteer help the senior citizen to do work they would be happy. When seeing them happy me myself also will get happy.Although i like to see them happy but i dun have patient with them and i dun like smelly places but if i got these component i will surely help them .To befriends with the senior citizen also an hard job because everyone is unique in their own way ,some are easy-going ,some are hot tempered some are arrogant ,some likes to tell story about the past ,some treat volunteer as their maid/servant ,so volunteer must goes into their life to find out what they likes ,what they don't like and also the food they eat, their medical condition and the hobby so as to entertain them to make them happy and tidy up the place for them .I think even the 'real' volunteer them self might not have all of these component.Being a volunteer also need true heart,if you think you want to do it just to finish a school project earning CIP hour or present it to a girl to let them think that your are a good man this is all crap, you are not fit to be a volunteer cause you do not have true heart true faith towards them.

Anyway if you want to be a volunteer and care for the elderly go to this website and contact the admin http://www.lionsbefrienders.org.sg/

A Deadly Business

1a) What are the 2 worrying trends about drug trafficking mentioned in the article?

The two trends are more teenager as young as 14 and women are caught in drug trafficking & the dealers are using Singaporean to traffic drug from one country to another or from other country to Singapore.

b) Why are Singaporeans increasingly being used as "drug mules"?

The main reason is that Singapore do not need a visa for many places and they also less likely to be checked as Singapore got a reputation of being tough on drugs.

2) What will you do if you find out that one of your friends is selling drugs? How will you react if someone tries to sell you drugs

I will first ask what's his problem and he is selling drug then i will try to resolve or minimise the problem so can he can out of the devil's palm which is ''drug''.If it is money problem is will recommend him to the Financial Assistance and raise a fund for him.It is out of fun, i will tell him the consequence of selling drug or drug abusing which i will said it below. It is out of stress and family problem I will tell him to go visit the counsellor or reducing his stress by playing more sports game with him or passing him the 101 ways of reducing stress manuals.then i will tell him to report to the police and arrest the person who told him to sell drugs and turn in himself to the police and remove his sins.

This is only if he listen to me.If he dun listen to me ,i will rather be the bad guy and report to him about his act.I rather he know his mistake then covering it for him and makes him think that it is right.

Consequence of drug trafficking

  • For adult is hanging
  • teens is caning and jailed up to 15 years
  • for girl is jailed for up to 15 year
  • bad company as drug trafficking need to mix with the gangster or drug abuser
  • control by the leader as a drug mulers
  • take up drug too
  • bad for health

So think before you do!!!

If someone want to sell drug to me i will first ignore him later i will inform the police.if he is the person i know i will try to tell him to stop.if i cant ignore the person i will run as fast as i could and the same thing i will do is Call the police.

Hawkers fall prey to brazen break-ins.

1a) Why is it easy for burglers to break into stalls at the two markets in the Kallang area?

The two market at the Kallang areas was an easy target for burglers to break into because the units are open at the top ,leaving it exposed to the thief. The other problem is that the stall holders like to put their money in their stall thinking that it will be safe to put there and also the thief is smart in their stealing.even thought a stall holder Mdm Chen had install a metal bar connecting over the front but the thief is also easy to steal her money by tying a raffia string to a basket and lowering it into the stall.they use a broom to sweep the coins scattered on the floor which the then hoist.
b) What is the Geylang East Central Merchants' Association going to do about the break-ins?

They held a meeting about this problem. They also in torch with the relevant authorities , such as the NEA and the Town councils to look into improving security possibly by modifying stall layout and design.NEA responded that those stallholder who want to equip their stalls with additional security feature like grilles could apply to do so.they also was going to make a drawing and measurement of the feature they plan to install to ensure they fall within height requirement. The stall holder had to pay administrative fees on $16 as well as paying a reinstatement deposit before work start.

2. What do you think should be done to tighten the security of the markets? What do you think of the burglars who brazenly break into the stalls?

I think they should 'cover' the holes of the food centre and make something can prevent the thief from climbing up the metal poles and pipes like building a height of the metal poles higher or building another wall long enough to prevent them to climbing over. The stall holder also must do their job by keeping the money and valuable with them every time the leave the stall even if it was in a peak hour.they should also buy insurance to guard against thief .If they got two much coin and cannot bring with them they can keep the coin into a small containers and kept into a safe place. The in-charges of this two market should install grilles and cameras in every two to three stalls.the two market stall holder should work together and try to catch the thieves.

what i think about the thief that steal money and ransacked the stall is that they are crazy evil and bad.i think he/she/they got feud with the two centre either one stall holder cause in the newpaper said that they ransacked the stall while the stall got 'nothing valuable??'

3 Cheers for the Team

1)i)Why is cheer leading an expensive sport?
ii)What makes cheer leading such a tough sport?

1i) The uniform of the cheerleader are of exact measurement.the white shoe and prom-pom are imported from the US and or Taiwan. From a interview from Amanda Tan,former cheerleader of CHIJ Katong Convert, she said that she need to spent up to $200 on a single performance put up by her secondary school. The uniform of the cheerleader cost about $70-$80.The People's Association Youth Movement estimated that forming a squad cost about $10,000 to $20,000.

ii)They need to train at least twice to five time a week, for at least four hour a day. They are easily injured their self. They also needs a hefty financial.Although they got medical insurance of $30 to $100 but it might not enough if they injured themselves seriously which cost about $1000 to $10,000.

2)What is your opinion of cheerleaders? If given a chance, would you join cheer leading? Why/ why not?

2)My opinion for cheerleader is that they are a occupation they didn't get respect in the old times even now cause people think that cheerleaders had to expose their belly and this is absurd.Their occupation is alot harder then office job or even some of the sport-involvement cause their time is not fix and they had to do extra training in order to put on their best performance and also for competition. Many may think that cheerleader is just for girl or girl waving prom-pom and screaming like mad but in my opinion they are not simple, they can be for boy and in a competition like track and field, school competition, they are the most important role in there.my another opinion for cheer leading is the are ''expensive'' as seen in my Q1 ,their item are super expensive and their organiser manager or teacher provide good medical insurance and service to them.Like nutritional supplements and vitamins, which cost about $50 to $130 per bottle.

If i had a chance i will not be cheerleader as i think i had to pay lots of money in,before and after joining the cheerleaders.the other for not joining is they took me lots of time and will easily cause injuries to me.The cheerleader also need to undergo a lot of trainings and i think i not up to it.

Minister questions plans to separate conjoined twins
(Part A – Prime – Page A1 & A6)

Question 1
What are some of the problems involved in separating a conjoined twin?

The problem are three out of four twin joined at the head were died in the operation and fourth not in a good shape. The risk of this operation is very risky even if both or one survived it might have serious brain problem for the rest of the life.for the latest report of twin whom is conjoin at the head was rated 50;50 one twin will die.for the three twin mention in the article only one operation was succeeded with both twin but not in a good shape.one of the twin mention there one twin died and one have serious problem.
Question 2
If you were a part of a conjoined twin, would you rather stay together with your twin for the rest of your life or would you risk both your lives to go for an operation? Why?

I would first ask for his opinion then I would tell him the trouble of being conjoin if he/she said no ,I will respect his idea and said a single word of this subject anymore;but if he said yes or he said that he will respect my choice i will rather risk both our live to redeem our freedom.

WHY?

  1. Firstly,it is very troublesome to walk around and doing thing like if i want to walk there and he want to walk another side then we will argue and this may broke our good relationship
  2. secondly, when your relative came and see you they do not know how to address we both.example if my name is James and my brother is Thomas our relative don't know who to call or maybe call both and it is very awkward.
  3. If we not in a good term and if we to fight and if i am very timid human reaction will run away .if we were conjoin i cant get away from him.
  4. If we were to go for a overnight trip like example camping there might not have a suitable bed for us to sleep
  5. and lastly a conjoined twin will be a laughter to normal human if i would mind i am scared of my other mind.

WHY?part [2]

why I risked the lives of ours because these day technologies are very good and we took this risk for our own good take this risk even if one of us or both die in the operation i will not blame the others as this is our choice but if we both survive it will be a great thing to us and to our close one.we also can increase the good reputation of our Singapore's doctor as this show that Singapore's doctor is very good at this that this can bring in of business to Singapore and make the financial problem to resolve.generally this is either a win-win situation or a both lose situation it all depend on our doctor

Businesses are still big on doing good(Part B – Home Section – Page B6 – The Home Market)

1)What are big companies doing in order to be more socially responsible?
They not cutting down on their Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) who is one of the so -called project of being socially responsible. For Sing Tel,they supports CSR by initiatives focusing on youth and education and environment.for environment they are cutting down carbon emission and the cutting down they use of paper. They also set up a Sing Tel Touching Lives Funds who raised $2.2 million for the privileged children and youths.McDonald also make sure they does their part. They do this by making sure their food is safe. They also make sure they they did not buy beef or other food originating from the rainforest's land or recently deforested rain forest. For DBS they help this by sending their staff embarked over Asia. This includes teaching they children over there and build basketball court in some rural areas.
2)How important it is to be socially responsible? And do you think it is still possible to make a social impact during the recession?

  • It is important to be socially responsible as a company because without the social there is no chances for the company to earn money so the company should repay the social by to a social responsible company. You will a great difference in the economy if the people didn't buy thing from the company or the company didn't care to spend some money and help to the people which represent the social. If the company be more responsibility in not only the work but the environment and economy or even the social many company will fall and the environment also will cause a great impact this will lead to more and more poor and more and more ill people around the world just because of the usage of non-biodegradable thing like metal and styrofoam which can produce toxic gases around of the world that cause population crash and lower birth and higher death rate around the world.
  • As an individual,it is also important to be socially responsible.for an student ,we could study hard , get an diploma and help the nation or even the government next time when u grow up.for an adult we can volunteer our self to the needy and some other kind of organization when you are free.you can also suggest your idea of how to improve the world to the government or even online.

ii)i think yes if everyone even as the company do their job.like cutting the usage of paper planting for tree around the area ,donate money to the poor and needy, taking part in the earth day, take care of our self and our family in term of nutrition and health to reduce the number of sick people around the world or volunteer our self. You may think this is just a small effort but this a make a difference of the world. For the money part maybe we can't help much but once the financial problem is solve then it should be fine.the number of retrenchment also increase just because of the financial crisis but i think we should work together to solve this problem instead of thinking that u could happy-go-lucky everyday after the retrenchment or avoiding this problem like an rat.

Save the planet? This is a job for school kids…
(Part B – Home Section – Page B3)

1)What are some of the things that schools in Singapore are doing in order to take care of the environment?

The school tell the primary 4 and 5 student to track their month to month energy.they also educate the student on how to save energy through their science lesson. The Singapore Environment Council (SEC) and National Environment Agency also organise a project call the project carbon zero to reduce home use energy.Schools also emphasis on issues like energy conservation and climate changes.they also get the student to throw fruit waste into worm compost bins, which convert food waste into fertilisers.
2)Do you think one person's effort in reducing, reusing and recycling will make a difference in saving the environment? What steps have you taken in the effort to save the earth?

i)No,a person would help but if everyone does their job it will help a lot as a phase said "Every person counts"this sentence mean although one person could do a lot of thing but it is impossible for one to save the earth as every one is counted to the saving of earth. This is possible if everyone do a little bit of what they wanted to do for saving the earth like picking up the litter you see and using lesser water when doing things This will help a lot even if just a litter it will also cause disaster or something like that to happen .The most common one is drought and global warming as it is true that the ozone layer have a hole so people please help a little bit. you see you may think even if you help in saving the earth but think carefully the world have more than 15 billion of people,a quarter of this should enough for us to dissolve global warming or maybe we can fix the hole in the ozone layer.
This are some of the way we can help...
  1. Turning off light and fans when you are not using.
  2. Do not let the running water flow
  3. Conserve more electricity by using fan instead of air-conditioner.
  4. Using light-saving bulb instead of the normal one
  5. Use the water heater approved by the government
  6. Check for the tick when buying electrical devices.
  7. Pick up litter you see even it is not your
  8. Do not pollute the water
  9. Get in your friend car and use up all the five or more space in a car if you is a legal driver
  10. Do not waste paper

ii)i have help in the environment by turning off lights and change the degree of the air-conditioner to 25 degrees.i have reuse reduce and recycle paper and water as well.i also help by not throwing litter on the floor or anywhere else but only the bin.i walk or take bus to school instead of my dad sending me as car causes carbon monoxide.my family also grow plant to take in the carbon dioxide from the air.

Reforming sex offenders(Part B – Home Section – Page B5 – Law & Order)

Q1)How does the treatment programme of the Singapore Prison Service help sex offenders
?
In prison :they are assessed on factor that shape their likelihood to re-offend such as how deviant their sex habit are, their attitudes towards sex offence and their history.after that they go through three program.the first they know how to defeat the secrecy, shame and denial surrounding their acts.the second they know they know to break up the thinking of sex.in the final know how to develop relapse prevention plan.
Outside prison:they are treated by family help ,counselling and the volunteer help them to find job to keep them busy.

Q2)Do you think that sex offenders should be given a second chance in the society? State your reasons.

We must see the situation before considering.if the prisoner have the sincerity to relapse their wrong why not we forgive them.but some are optional as some only said they want to change but after a long time they also didn't change .this kind of people should be reconsidered before giving them a chances. That kind of people should go through one of the counselling like in the prison but only one difference is they are not in as prisoner but as the out casted civilian.

If the the prisoner is like the prisoner BALA KUPPUSAMY whose always go in and out of prison ,we should not forgive them until he has reach the stage like in the above prisoner i mention .i think there is no way for him to change unless he fully absorb the mistake he made to the victim.

if the prisoner always think that it is the victim who made them enrage or becoming hyper this kind prisoner is the hardest to solve out if we want to forgive or not as sometimes the victim is way to absurd.so girl do not wear some kind of little cloth clothes u may be a victim yourself do not think that SINGAPORE is very safe as there are report last year to show that the crime rate is 855 last year although this year has drip by a small number.

LOW CRIME DOESN'T MEAN NO CRIME!!!

some prisoner maybe a victim itself and they should be forgive what i mean by that is girl always think that they has more authority as in the law it is stated that girl has more power when in a case of outrage of modesty.example that a girl s in wrong like she beat a man up very badly , the man want to confront her the other day when the girl saw the man coming beside her she tear her clothes in public and blamed that the man rape or molest her then the public will call the police and the man will be jail.

In conclusion 60% of the prisoner should be forgive as some may offend incidentally.

Man and beast face off in Sumatra (World Page A8)

Q1) What is illegal logging?

Illegal logging is the breaking of laws on cutting, processing and transporting timber or wood products. Substantial controversy surrounds what is and is not legal in many timber producing countries, and it is not always clear which laws should be considered ‘forest-relevant’

Q2) What can you do to stop the Sumatran tiger from extinction?

We can increase the risk of death like building a protected area in the habitat itself. We can also raise awareness of how to protect and stop abusing the Sumatran tigers in all the areas where it live.We can also persuade the government to sent more men's to petrol for illegal trading of these tiger part like the skins and internal organ. In addition of this, the government also can try to catch more illegal poachers or loggers as the are the usual hunter of them. They like to sell the organs as it is very healthy or it has difference uses and all are useful one.Tiger skin is one of the most common thing that the poachers will attack on;because of these small parts of the tiger, they killed them.I think it is cruel as we shouldn't kill the animal just because for the expensive parts.

TIGER SKINS ALSO KNOWN AS TIGER PELAGE-THE COMMON LINK TO DEATH OF TIGER

Tiger will die because of human selfishness as they want their important parts like the skin and penis of a tiger.Tiger skin is one of the most common thing that the poachers will attack on;because of these small parts of the tiger, they killed them.I think it is cruel as we shouldn't kill the animal just because for the expensive parts.Tiger skin can be made into a lot of decoration-like thing like a rug,a mat and a tiger skin coat for winter. Some people buy this skin because they want to be cool and show off their wealth because usually the tiger pelage is very expensive because of their rarity. Some people buy it because during winter it is very cold and this coat can kept them warm.

TIGER PENIS AND HEAD

HEAD OF A TIGER
Tiger head is very common too as some people buy that from poacher because i can be put as a trophy or a banner. It is also to be cool.

PENIS OF A TIGER

Tiger penis is brought because it can made wine or cocktail drink. It is also brought because some of the man in the world is having problem with their reproductive system so tiger penis is very good to boost their reproductive system. From what i heard from somewhere, tiger penis can create magical miracle.

if you think it is no wrong of buying it you are wrong because you are creating more extinction of tiger and this will lead to overcrowding of bad animals like some bug that can kill a life even if you didn't provoke them to increase and this will also lead the Eco-system to change.

STOP ABUSING!!!STOP POACHING!!!STOP BUYING!!!STOP KILLING!!! STOP,STOP,STOP

Ketamine (In Control pg 3)

Q1) What are the different forms of Ketamine?

Ketamine also known as K,SPECIAL K AND KIT KAT have three two form .One is in inject able liquid form ,one is in powder form and the other is in tablet form.
Q2) What would you do if you knew your friend took ketamine?

I will stop him/her from continuing it.I will also tell her the consequence of the taking katamine like in this article the girl Audrey have spent 1949 days in the jail and it is not a proud or cool thing to do.The three years is not actually like what it is.She actually need to serve eight year but because of the behaviour she had put in she was release early. But this took away big chunk of her life. When she come out she told the Straits Times that she haven't gone to the Esplanade, and this is a shock because every Singapore which are in the 20s has been to the Esplanade at least one time in term of school activity or for touring.

The consequence of taking ketamine

  • Firstly, it will waste your money.Drug is not as cheap as you think and plus you get caught you will be fined more than 20k which is a lot of if you add this cost to your price of the drug you have taken it may cost more than 30k.Not only that if you get caught you will spent 10 years or lesser in the jail and this is not what you want.
  • Secondly, Ketamine only can be use by doctor or vet legally to reduce pain.Other than that all other people who used this drug is a illegal manner.
  • Ketamine have a lot of side-effect like making a person unable to move or speak, nose bleeding, overwhelmed easily or have trouble sleeping .

Although you may think that it is unfair that only doctor or vet is the only people that can use this drug but think carefully do you know that inappropriate of using does not reduce pain but increase pain on both physically and mentally.
