Q1) In the last line, what did the writer mean by suggesting that “he may have found more porcupines than rats?”

In the speech of senior minister Goh Chok tong we learn that we Singaporean are divide into two categories which is rat and porcupine.Rats are those who scared of the aggressor and would not stand up for Singapore;Porcupine are those who stood up bravely and fight for Singapore and chase off the intruders or maybe terrorist in the right term.What the writer mean is most Singaporean are coward and only waiting what the government and not what people can help the government.

Q2)What’s worth giving up your life for?

What is worth giving my life to is my dream.I believe that everyone has dream;some are big some are small;some is risky;some is dangerous;some are impossible to achieve but no matter what a dream is a dream.No one in this earth don't have a dream.

My dream is to be a great runner or getting a job which involve math,science and sport.An army officer or an accountant is one of my choice.But before acquire any dream i need to have some basic skill like running speed,stamina,math skills,science skills as well as reading skills.

WHAT'S DREAMS?

Dream can change a people destiny like your determination will increase and it is a lot difference before and after dream came true.dreams can also win a person mind like what we said normally said 'mind over body'

WHY I CHOSE RUNNING AS MY DREAM

Although many people said that being a sport man is not easy and has a low pay or even no pay at all and my speed isn't that good but why I choose running as my dream.When i am P5 i like to take on challenge so i join track& field.but in the end of p6 i has not even won a single meal but at sec 1 I finally won a medal and i am very happy that I tell myself that running is not what I though so hard and I must win every challenge

Running speed and stamina

• Firstly,running speed can be learn by play basketball.
• Stamina can be train by running a long distance.
• Speed can be train by jumping so you can be taller and could run faster.
• Shuttle run is the Best to train your speed and alert
• stamina can be trained by weight building and sit ups.
• put up ,standing board jump and put ups can also building your muscle
• Overall what we need is stamina and IPPT(Individual Physical Proficiency Test ) training.

Math skill and science skills

These skill can be learn by reading more book ,do more research and reading more book.

Blockerrr!!!

My blocker of the life is reading skills. Although reading skills could be achieve by reading more books and practise on language,i still lack of confidence .Confident is one of the most common 'blocker' to 'block' our dreams.Without confident,everything is almost impossible to be done.

In this article the character in this story also have a dream and that is to protect his family by defending Singapore from all crisis.This character make me very proud of.Not everybody in this world can put his family at the most important place.This show that he is very filial and very faithful to the country.As what he said Total defence is the most important key.

Jack Neo's vocation was as a infantry officer as he sighned up for that. He became the Army's Music and Drama Company's quatermaster. Not only handling these jobs, he also did part tirm acting, emceeing, singing and even
comedy skits on TV and live theatre and getai shows. He also conducted drama training classes, produced karaoke comedy albums and published a comic book.



Q2:''Hard work leads to success.'' To what extend do u agree this statement.

1. In games ,people cheat because they want to be the winner of the game.Many people cheat because they want to win somebody else and break record of that game.Some people use cheat because they don't like the game anymore and wanted to use for fun.Most people cheats because they don't want to put in hard work.
2. In work,people cheat because they want a high post such as manager and etc.Many people in work copy other' s idea as their own to do their presentation.Some people even copy from the computer in the office and steal data from it and save it in their thumb drive
3. In school ,people cheat by telling or even threatening people to help them to their work because they want high marks.Some people even peek at other people work and copy from them.

How does hard work helps?

1. Like me i play a game without cheat and now i also can be one of the top few people;my friend who uses cheat get a very high 'level' (for my game is level )but he feel bored now as he could not level up anymore.A sentence to describe this is ''a cheater is a loner''In the end I get the joy of the game while he get bored.As i use hard work to train he did not .After the hard work i have put in i felt proud of myself although i didn't train as fast as him.
2. Hard work give you no guilt,What i mean by that is when you cheated,you will feel guilty.So vice versa if you didn't use cheat you will be proud.
3. Hard work gave you honour.When you put in a lot of hard work(example:exam and tests.)u will success and be the honour of the class and you can help others too.
4. Lastly,Hard work give you the basic foundation.If u are hardworking and you don't understand about something you will find a lot of research that related to your doubts,you will found yourself getting extra thing other than what you want to find at the start.

SO EXERCISE MORE HARD WORK ,DON'T BE LAZY!!!

Drinking in young age will make you be 'cool' but think carefully before u start drinking.There are many reasons why i do not encourage teenagers to drink.

• Firstly,you will get addicted and want to drink more and more...
• When u reach the age of about 26 or older you will easily get headaches and you will be regret of why you ever start drinking just because of wanting to be 'cool'.
• Secondary, a bottle of beer cost about $10 or more.If you one day drink lets said two bottle it will cost $20 and after one year you will waste about $7300 plus if u get caught you will spent 500 for the first two offence and for the third or more offence u will fine up to $2000.
• Example that you get caught for four time in first year of drinking you will waste $12300 and that is 1/6 of the pay per month of most of your parents.(The fines and beer cost is for Singapore as for other country I don't know).If they pay for you ,they will need to earn more money and each day your pocket money eventually become lesser as it is impossible for them to pay the fines only as they need to pay taxes and many thing. When you get lesser money,you will complained and this will lead to lending money from your friends and hence you will borrow a lot of money and eventually you will in debt and in the end you are the one who suffer.

WHY NOT SAVE UP THE MONEY AND BUY THE THING YOU NEED OR THE THING YOU WANT.

• Thirdly, sometimes drinking may lead to a mistake such as a underage girl becoming pregnant and the two parties will be in trouble.
• The most common reason why teenager is when they are young they saw their parent drink ,when they reach the stage of teenager they will 'monkey see monkey do' and start drinking .

AND PARENTS PLEASE STOP DRINKING SO THAT YOUR CHILD WON'T FOLLOW.

I know some of the underage drinkers want to train their drinking skills as some of the occupation they will get in in the future may need to entertain clients that are a drinker too ,so they need to hold their liquor to avoid unpleasant quarrels .But think carefully ,how would you know if you will get in that kind of job and it is too early to start drinking ,can't you wait for you are at the age of 22 or more then you start drinking.
